Pretty Fly for a Draenei

Hey everyone this is Legolene from WoW Adventurer and I need some advice with my latest transmog. As a Draenei who is relatively new to the whole transmogrification game, I find myself at a crossroads as to what do do with my fire mages latest outfit. I currently have this red and gold theme going on, solely inspired by the shoulders Mantle of False Virtue which was a drop from Archbishop Benedictus in Hour of Twilight. Since I decided I really liked the shoulders, and the red theme was somehow fitting with my mage's main spec which is fire, I've been sporting the Red Linen Robe as my main outfit.

But it's time for a change, and this is where I need the readers of Pretty Fly for a Draenei to help me out.

Do I switch to the Replica Magisters Robes and leave it at that? I really love this robe, with the gold accents, but isn't it a little, I dunno, two seasons ago?

Or do I go with this fab new blue and gold theme, and either keep the red and gold shoulders, or start looking for some new blue and gold ones?

Can anyone suggest cloth shoulders that would go well with this robe, the Mistscape Robe? I could really use some advice here.

It wouldn't be Friday without a Fly Draenei Friday post! I'm Satsuri from over at Satsuri's Style where I mainly post about transmogrification. Draynee was kind enough to let me post on FDF!

I see a lot of different transmogs on my server and can't seem to keep my finger off my screenshot key ;). Here are a few fly draenei that have caught my eye:

Asperations has a really pretty plate set that reminds me of a sunset. She used the Avenger's Battlegear Set from AQ (sorry, Paladin only) paired with a sweet axe, Gladiator's Decapitator, and a guild tabard.

Gemíní is another pretty fly paladin in the Valorous Redemption set and the rare Tabard of the Lightbringer.

Nazzryth has done one of my favorite things: he transmogged the Replica Shado-Pan Helm! And how cool is it that he put it together with the Vengeful Gladiator's priest set? I never thought of doing that. Now, go get exalted with the Shado-Pan and get your helm today!

Rainÿ's transmog reminds me of the sweet set Draynee made for her hunter recently. Rainÿ makes black mail look pretty cool on a shaman! She mogged the gloves, belt, pants, and boots from the Slayer's Mail set seen here. The Skeletal Shoulders and Double Link Tunic complete the look.

Last but not least, a leather set! I am excited to see draenei running around in leather now. Jubilee looks good in the recolored Tier 1 rogue set, Tabard of the Shattered Sun, and the Orca-Hunter's Harpoon.

Hey everyone! It's been awhile, but I'm finally back from vacation! Sorry I didn't have more stuff to post while I was gone, I was hoping for some more guest posts. I loved having Legolene and Satsuri's posts featured here, and it would be super awesome to have guest posts in the future just for funsies :D If any of you would ever like to write one, just let me know! Any draenei-related subject matter accepted, not just transmog.

While I was gone, I was able to log into WoW occasionally with my dinky little laptop. I had the graphics slider set all the way to Low and it was still overheating! I can't believe I ever raided 25's on that thing :O The up-side was that when I got home and logged in I was in love all over again with how beautiful the game looks on a halfway decent computer!

So, I don't have a mog post today, but I want to let you all know about another little project I've been working on for like, ever. I've been messing around with it for almost a year, and I keep shying away from talking about it because it's just not "done". But here, I'm gonna do it!!!! Introducing...

I got the idea for this site one day while wondering what all the colors of hoods were in game. I started keeping pictures on my computer, and thought I'd grow it into a visual database for transmog. It's sort of like MogIt, but without the dressing room. I actually used MogIt to take all my pictures, so thanks to those folks ;)

The basic concept is a quick way to find all of the models of a certain piece of gear quickly. Say you want to see all of the plate dresses, they're all there together! It's also great if you're wearing a flared-sleeve top and want to see what color gloves come in a short model, to keep the sleeve showing.

So, that's the gist of it! I'm still working on some of the categories, including adding sets, but I think it's time for my Mog Companion to start companion-ing... or something like that, lol! Check it out and let me know what you think, I'd really appreciate any feedback :D

This week I have a T-T-T-Transmoggg from Daniel. That was the subject of his e-mail, I just had to use it as the title! His death knight Athenastraza is rocking a few of my favorite DK pieces, the Tier 10 25-man shoulders and legs, along with a few DK 'starting zone' pieces and a fantastic pair of blue boots.

The Tier 10 death knight set has always been my favorite. It was pretty epic for me at the time to be raiding Icecrown Citadel and be building a set that looked just like Arthas' gear. My DK, Lideyviah, has the shoulders and legs mogged also. A sad moment for me was losing out on what I will always swear were matching blue boots for the set. I can't remember if they dropped from the heroic loot-ship, or heroic Sindragosa, but both of those loot drops now match the purple set. The night they dropped I had to pass them to the other DK since the boots I had were better. When trying to convince my guild leader to do the heroic fight again so I could have a shot at the boots he said "I'm not doing that damn fight on heroic again just so you can stand around Dal and look pretty!" Well, this was before transmog so.... I can't find any record of the boots ever being blue, so I'm just hoping my hopes were wrong, but that sad story still sticks with me :/

Happy happy joy joy, it's Friday! Hey, this is my 100th post! Can you believe it, 100 posts about fly draenei?! How awesome is that? LOL! I've gotten quite a few fabulous mogs from you guys lately, and got a little behind on posting, so this week's FDF is all reader mogs! Thanks so much for sending them in, you guys rock :D

First up is reader Dan, whose fly draenei is rocking some invisiboots with her mog. Dan said he was pretty excited when he found these 'boots', because so many of them make hooves look weird. I agree! I really hate those stumpy short boots there seems to be a million of. She also sent her hunter Felinora in some of my favorite mail pieces, the Ebonhold set with a perfectly coordinate pet!

After weeks and weeks and weeks of making Lightning Steel Ingots, I finally got my Lionheart Executioner, Reborn made! With gearing being so tedious this expansion, I haven't really focused on any of my characters' iLevel in months. This weapon is actually the highest level item I have on any of my 5 90's, lol! So, I thought it only fitting that I make a mog for such an epic sword. This mog is not that mog, but something else I put together while browsing MogIt :D I liked it so much, I actually went farming for the gear. Draynee hasn't really had a new mog since I set her up with that fantastic pink and purple look right after mogging came out!

I was looking through chest-pieces and something about the Phantom Armor was speaking to me. After staring at for awhile, I noticed the small aqua accents on the back. They reminded me of the Paladin tier 7 set, and an outfit was born!

One of these days I'll have to slug it out in PVP long enough to get this belt! I know paladins have been asking to carry around their Librams on their waist forever, so this belt being a nod to that is awesome.

While going through the plate chestpieces for the Mog Companion site, I was introduced to the beauty of the Sunwell plate items. I'd never really noticed how neat they look, and this piece instantly made me think of the death knight Heroic Tier 10 set. Since all the pieces are available as look-alike pieces, any plate class could wear this look, but it seems like the perfect Blood DK outfit to me :)

The pieces from this outfit are a little more difficult to get than what I normally like to feature. The shoulders, waist and boots are from heroic 25-man ICC, and the legs are from Firelands. If your guild's not into running old raids, you can always look for a cross-realm group on OpenRaid, or through Twitterland Raiding.

Hey hey it's Fri-daaayyy :D This week we have a super fun mail mog. Is it a shaman? A hunter? It's Saz! I featured Saz's priest a few months ago on FDF. This time it's her hunter Metres and her pet April. Maybe next time she'll send me her Shaman, since that is her specialty ;)

This week's Fly Draenei is from the superb Taureness Kamalia from Kamalia et Alia! Kamalia had a great plan to get some quest rewards for transmog that are Alliance-only, she went under-cover as a draenei on her priestess! Now, I'm not sure what grumpy old Garrosh would think of her plan, but as I am pro-draenei, not so much pro-Alliance, I'm all for it ;)

Her outfit here is a modification of an outfit she did for the Amateur Azerothian's last transmog competition (PS, I miss that guy). This version is more accessible for low-level characters, so your draenei can be fly no matter what her level!

Why hello there Draenei enthusiasts! I hope you've been enjoying the steady stream of Fly Draenei Fridays :) I've been working on a few mogs of my own, but I really want to wear them, and haven't completed any of them yet! One outfit I'm putting together for my mage includes gloves from a Molten Front vendor. Kids these days think the Golden Lotus are a sucky grind, they have nothing on these Hyjal peeps from the last expansion, lol! At 13 tokens a day, I needed 150 tokens to unlock the first stage of these dailies, and at 30 tokens a day, 150 more to I think unlock the vendor guy. That second stage is really only 5 days, but ya know when you can't bring yourself to do the dailies every day, it kinda drags out...

So, I've been seeing some super fly mogs on other blogs and thought I'd share them in case you haven't seen them!

Luxypie at Sunshine, Luxypie and Rainbows started blogging a few months ago. This is her priest Veluxia, and OMG!, if you remember my Ultimate Dream Mog, you know why I am gaga-bonkers in love with hers!

Before we dive on in to this week's FDF, I want to let you guys know about a transmog site that's new to me. Honeypants over at Mogoholic posted about it earlier this week, and I think it's about to make putting together my FDF's a whole lot easier ;) This site is Xmog.cc Transmog Viewer. It's like the armory, but instead of listing your equipped gear, it lists your mogged gear! Whew, I've been doing a lot of tabbing between the armory, wowhead, and my blog posts, and now I can just copy the links from there *evil grin*! Thanks for sharing that Honeypants!

This is Ryi's Dragonstalker Recolor set, I call it her 'you might think I'm a hunter, but I'll lava burst you in the face!' set. That might be too long a name. I'm little jealous she was able to get her hands on that belt though, my shaman who wants to wear it is not on the same server, or faction, as my leatherworker who can make it :/ Also, it's BOP, sadface!

Haruuka is so pretty in pink and purple! Hallowed Crown, Mana-Sphere Shoulderguards, Vestments of the Shifting Sands, Energis Armwraps, Cord of Sanctification and Staff of Infinite Mysteries.		Ahli's set is simple yet elegant. Knight's Mail with Knight's Pauldrons, and Precious' Ribbon for a little peek of pink.


Amaravati is rocking the farmer look! Her's is pretty similar to my farmer mog, but those blue shoulders are even better! Arcane Cover, Skein Woven Mantle, Blue Overalls, Yellow Lumberjack Shirt, Black Mageweave Gloves and Mistscape Boots.		I was totally confused when I first saw Teniitha. I was on my pally at the time, and I though at first someone used the look-alike elixir on me, but wait, I'm not wearing a helm. Then I realized I wasn't even wearing this outfit and it was just a super fly twinsie! Purple Judgement helm, shoulder, gloves, belt and hands with Revenant chest and legs.

Well, I really thought I was going to post about my awesome mog I have planned for Drayney with Widow's Clutches. I unlocked the vendor who sells them in Molten Front, but /sigh... I need 125 more tokens before he will actually sell anything to me! For normal people, this should only take 5 days, but I have a horrible time doing old content dailies every day. I took me about a year and a half to get my Netherdrake mounts, and I still have about 3/4 of the Argent Tournament stuff to get :/ Oh wells, instead here's a post about what my dear mage has been wearing in the mean time!

I was wearing my green mog for a really long time to go with that cool dragon staff. Then, I got a wand as a weapon and kept that mog with dual star wands! I really like the model of the Brightcloth Robe, but after awhile, I wasn't really feeling the shoulders I was wearing. I needed something a little more-magey. After a little MogIt browsing, I decided on this purple outfit. Pretty similar to the green one, but these shoulders say "Hey! I'm a mage!" ;)

After I got the sha-touched sword from LFR, I went back to my green mog for a few minutes, but I really didn't like how the greens only almost matched with the sword, lol. In preparation for my upcoming mog, I picked up the Embersilk Robes off the AH, and then found this awesome helm while cleaning out my bank. So, I thought, why not a mix a little of the green with red?!

So, there's a brief look at what Drayney has been wearing lately. Each of the looks went through several iterations before I settled on these two, but I'll spare you the details ;) I have some MogIt mock-ups I did to go with the LFR sha-touched sword I'll try and get posted this week. By then, I hopefully will have done the dailies to get my damned pink gloves!

First up is Chakorii of Shadowsong (US). Chakorri's mog reminds the very first reader mog I ever got! I love the screenie she sent in, this mount is great for showing off your mog while getting around.

Unless perhaps you've been under a rock, on vacation, or not playing WoW, you've surely heard the hullabaloo over the new items at the Blizzard Store. Formerly a place to buy neato pets and mounts, they've now added 3 Cosmetic Armor Pieces you can spend your real-life gold on, and mog to your hearts' content. I have mixed feelings about these helms, they're not really my style, and I think the price point is a little high. I know everyone's got quite an opinion on these things, and I won't say either way if I support them being sold for money or not. What I do support 100%, however, is the people who buy these and want to wear them.

There's a rumor going around Twitter that some poor chap got kicked from LFR, and the reason in people's boxes was that he was wearing one of these store helms. To make it worse, the 'rumor' (I can't speak to it's truth as I wasn't there) was started by some pretty high-profile podcasters who were making fun of this person. This blog is not usually a place where I voice strong opinions, but without a doubt, my opinion of this situation is that it is asinine and unacceptable.

I've got a lot more to say about this, but I will digress and get to the pretty pictures. In short, transmog is as much a form of self-expression as what class you play, and NO-ONE (not even you, Mr. Worgen DK in purple judgement) deserves to be publicly made fun of for what they choose to mog into. So rock on, kid who got kicked from LFR, and comfort yourself in the thought that the gear you wanted wasn't going to drop from that run anyways, and you were better off with another group :)

So ANYWAYS, here's some cloth mogs I put together for the 3 helms. If I'm feeling funky-fresh, I might do some of the other armors too!

This first helm you may have seen with the blue skull face effect. I had no idea that was just an animation until I saw Mogoholic's post about the helm. It's a pretty neat looking crown in still form!

Soco's dress is from Archeology, and it is BOA if you're into flying around and digging up your mog items. For you mages out there, it is the same model as the Tier 7 chest - Valorous Frostfire Robe.

Raileena's got one of my favorite plate items on in her mog! The Crafted Dreadful Gladiator's Clasp of Cruelty is so cool! I used the Malevolent version in my Paladin's latest mog. Casque of Flame, Pauldrons of Edward the Odd, Templar chest, gloves and legs, and Sapphiron's Scale Boots.		Kajia's set is a nice mix of golden mail from various sets. Crown of Destruction, Battleforge Shoulderguards, Masterwork Breastplate, Engraved Gauntlets, Ornate Girdle, Radiant Leggings, and Masterwork Boots.


Haziell has a nice twist on one of my favorite DK sets. Sanctified Scourgelord's Shoulders, chest, gloves and legs, with Warbelt of Sealed Pods and Stonestep Boots.		Rhonii has a nice simple cloth mog. Black Mageweave Shoulders, Vest and Leggings, Bracers of Displaced Air, Black Mageweave Gloves, Motherseed Cord, and Storm-Sing Sandals.

A few weeks ago I got a DM on Twitter from Aelo, the fabulously talented co-creator of MogIt! After attempting to help them out, I poked a little as to what was going on. Turns out they were working on a new plugin for MogIt - MogIt Armory! With this plugin, you can see what over 11,000 different players are wearing, pulled straight from their Armory profiles. In addition to random players, Aelo has featured what we Mog bloggers are wearing! Mog bloggers' pics have a 'Featured' banner in the corner, and when you click on it, it gives you a link to our blogs.

There's Draynee :D To see the bloggers, you simply load up the plugin, pick an armor class, and then choose a race. A lot of peeps are under female Blood Elves, but if you poke around, say male Dwarves, you can catch Zidux, and Zazzy is under female Goblin!

If you pick 'All', it will show you all the transmogs on your character's race.

Seeing what a sampling of people are wearing is pretty neat! I've only really poked around the plate, and there sure is a lot of purple judgement and revenant sets :P The only downside is that if the person has a guild tabard on, it shows your guild tabard, but since mine is super fly, that is ok, lol!
*Update - Under Catalogue - Show Filters there is an option to show or hide tabards and shirts. Also, you can filter by class there!

Howdy draenei enthusiasts! Man, I've got a lot going on lately! I've really been wanting to post more, but too much stuff in my brain. If you haven't heard (possibly because I didn't announce it), I'm going to Blizzcon this year!! I was fortunate enough to go to the last one on the first day at the very last minute, thanks to an awesome friend. This year we've got our own tickets and plenty of advance notice ;) So, crazy me thinks I ought to go as Draynee! I've been spending a lot time dinking around with the outfit, and perhaps I shouldn't have attempted something as complicated as judgement shoulders for my first cosplay... I've had a few mis-starts, but I think I'm going to be able to make it work! So, that's one of the multitudes of things I've been trying to do at once, hopefully I'll get a post put together about it soon.

In the meantime, Umlaut emailed me his latest super fly mog last week, and was hoping to debut it to you guys before posting it on his blog. Well, last Friday my rl guild dinged level 5, so I didn't get a FDF put together (in case that makes no sense, it was my 5th wedding anniversary!). But, better late than never, right? Hamadi says he's having loads of fun being a all shiney as a warrior in paladin gear (Lightforge Armor). He's also taking advantage of being one of the only classes that can wield polearms and staves and has mogged his polearm into Key to the Planes.

Chakorii was featured in my last Reader Roundup FDF, and wrote in to say he got a TON of whispers and comments afterwards. How cool is that?! Here's his newest mog, and a beautiful screenshot. I love the weather in Valley of the Four Winds, it really makes up for the lack of weather in the rest of the world. Anyhow, Chakorri said this set was inspired by his raid team's resto druid (and guild "mom"). It looks great!

Laeleiweyn over at World of Lae has started an Alt Appreciation series, and this week is Death Knight Week! What a fun idea! Since it's all about showing your alt's some love, I'm going to veer off the Draenei path for a moment and show some appreciation for my former main, now a much-neglected alt.

Lideyviah was the second character I made when I started playing WoW. My first toon was a hunter that I leveled up by following my husband around, lol. At the time he played a Death Knight, and he's pretty cool, so I wanted one too. I leveled her up all on my own, and that's when I really got hooked on the game. She was my main for a very long time. I raided with her, did every achievement possible, and hit exalted with as many reps as I could. Lid was actually my first 90 in Pandaria, but I wasn't really feeling playing melee anymore, and I haven't really touched her since. I've thought about transferring her over to a draenei, but I don't think I ever really could. She's pretty special to me, and even if I don't play her, I'm content with her staying just as she is. I visit her every once in a while and have warm fuzzy feelings ;)
